International Travel Requirements for Filipino

🛂 1. Valid Philippine Passport - Your passport should generally be valid for at least 6 months, particularly according to the destination country's entry requirements.🎫

2. Boarding Pass - Issued by the airline after check-in.🌍

3. Valid Visa, if required -If your destination requires a visa, bring the valid visa/e-visa or other proof of authorization.

4. Confirmed Return/Onward Ticket - Particularly important for tourists. BI has identified a confirmed round-trip ticket as part of the regular tourist documentation.

5. eTravel Registration - Departing Filipino passengers are required to register through eTravel before departure. BI states that eTravel is used as part of immigration formalities.

6. Accommodation Details - Keep your hotel booking or accommodation address available, especially if asked about your itinerary.

7. Travel Itinerary - Know your destination, travel dates, activities, and accommodation. A printed or digital copy is useful.

8. Proof of Financial Capacity - Usually kept ready in case you are referred for additional questioning/secondary inspection.
8.1. Bank Certificate with Bank stamp (Showing the Average Daily Balance, Opening Date, Current balance, Account number, Account name.

9. Employment/Source-of-Income Documents - If applicable, such as certificate of employment, approved leave, business documents, etc., particularly if additional verification is required.

9.2. Approved Leave
9.3. Business Document such as Business permit and licenses, only applicable for self EMPLOYED

9.5. Payslip for atleast 3 months

B. Minor without the Parents
B.1.Apply Online
Access the DSWD Minors Traveling Abroad (MTA) Portal, create an account, and log in.

Complete the Application
Provide the minor’s, parents/guardian’s, travel, destination, companion, and sponsor details.

• Prepare Required Documents
  Common requirements include:

  • PSA Birth Certificate of the minor

  • Parents’ PSA Marriage Certificate or applicable legal documents

  • Valid IDs/passports of parents or legal guardian

  • Minor’s passport

  • Recent passport-size photo

  • Traveling companion’s passport

  • Notarized Affidavit of Consent

  • Affidavit of Support and sponsor’s proof of financial capacity

  • PSA Death Certificate, if applicable

• Upload & Submit
  Upload clear copies of the documents through the MTA portal. DSWD may request additional documents or original-document verification.

• Pay the Fee

  • ₱300 — 1-year validity

  • ₱600 — 2-year validity

• Receive the Clearance
  Once approved, the electronic DSWD Travel Clearance can be used for the minor’s international travel. Keep a copy with the child or traveling companion.

C. Sponsored Trip
C.1. Affidavit of support and guarantee

Prepare the Affidavit – State the sponsor’s details, traveler’s details, relationship, destination, travel purpose, and the sponsor’s commitment to financially support the traveler.

Notarize the Affidavit – If the sponsor is in the Philippines, have the AOSG signed and notarized by a Philippine notary public.

Sponsor Abroad – If the sponsor is outside the Philippines, the AOSG may be executed through the Philippine Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over the sponsor’s location.

For Minor Travelers – If a minor is traveling without a parent or legal guardian, the AOSG may be required as part of the DSWD Travel Clearance requirements.

Proof of Relationship – Prepare documents such as PSA birth or marriage certificates to establish the relationship between the sponsor and traveler, when applicable.

Supporting Documents – Prepare the sponsor’s valid ID/passport, employment certificate, bank statement, ITR, and the traveler’s passport, itinerary, accommodation, and visa, if applicable.

Check the Purpose – An AOSG is not automatically required for every Filipino traveler. Requirements depend on the traveler's circumstances, sponsor, and purpose of the document.
